Aquamarine - I never knew you were so cool!!!!

So, I recently acquired a book from the library and I'm so obsessed with it that I might have to consult amazon... Any who - Aquamarine is the birthstone for March. Turns out, there is a legend saying it first came from a mermaids jewelry box, hence the name, and is said to bring pure love.  Not only that, apparently aquamarine can be very healing for the throat and neck. Especially if worn on a short necklace.  16" Birthstone necklace anyone? I don't know about you, but sore throats are still running rampant up here in the North.  This book I'm reading also has some great info about astrological signs and all kinds of cool uses for different stones. Tell...

more moon stuff

This is what the moon looks like tonight. I just had to to do a quick sketch as soon as I walked in the door. It makes me want to do a single half moon necklace like the second moon in this one, but by itself... Also, right now, the stars are IN-SANE. Maine.  Just before seeing the moon tonight as I was driving home from a movie, I actually thought, "hmmmm, this drive is getting a little boring. Maybe I should make a point to take a road I've never taken before just for adventure, like once a week or something" Then I saw the moon. And the stars. It's still true, I should take new roads every once...

The Moon in Maine

Ever since moving here, I've felt more connected to the moon. She's just seems more present here, or maybe there are fewer distractions. Hence the inspiration for the crescent moon collection. I love how the simple circles in this collection are like everyday hoops, a classic shape. The fact that they represent the moon is more subtle, like the moon itself at times. There, but quietly, you might not even notice unless you take the time to really look. For most of us, the moon a beautiful mystery. A luminescent planet that reveals as much of herself as the sun allows, and all in perfect rhythm. Women especially can feel a connection to the moons phases, if you just pay attention...

Amber's collection

As you may know, I'm obsessed with podcasts. I even wrote a whole blog post about which ones are my favorites. Well, I was mentioned on one of them! Amber Lilyestrom is at the top of my list. She talks about mindset, business growth, lifestyle, she interviews amazingly inspiring people, and she's a New England girl like me, she lives in New Hampshire and is obsessed with it's beauty and calm. I swear, we should be friends.  Anyway, Amber very graciously said in one of her weekly podcasts, "how can I help you?"  For some reason, this prompted me to want to help her back. I love how she connects with her tribe on such a personal level, and I wanted...

The Sisterhood - a love story

This is the necklace I wear every day. I've been wearing it since last Spring. Even though I made it, It was purchased for me by one of my closest friends, a sister by choice. She purchased 5 of these necklaces for 5 of her chosen sisters who helped her navigate some very difficult "chaos" in her life.  Wearing this necklace reminds me of what sisterhood truly is. I have several sisters in this life. None of them are blood relatives. But the bond we share is deep and strong.  This is one of the things I am most grateful for.  Women are so strong and we are stronger together. Having sisters means I am never alone. I will...
