I'll be honest with you, sometimes I'm not sure what I want to write about in these weekly blogs/ newsletters/ love notes...
This morning was one of those times. So I reached into my bag of journal prompts (a doc on my google drive) for help.
This one jumped right out at me:
"What can you trust about your art?"
Now, before I go on, I want to say to you, yes this IS for you. Yes you DO have an art and you know what it is. What's the first thing that comes to mind when I say that, "your art"?
That's it.
Try this journal prompt out, What can you trust about your art? And what does that mean to you? What does it say about you? What part of you consistently comes through in your art? What comes through in the process?
This was a fun one for me today. Maybe because what comes through for me consistently is whimsy. But where does that come from? What does it mean that when I create, I create light and easy. I certainly don't feel light and easy most of the time. But there must be some part of me that is just a silly soul wanting to play. That's who comes out when I create. How fun is that?!?!?!
Maybe for you it's the opposite, maybe your art is a way to express a serious side that you have to hold back in your daily interactions...
Either way, exploring what comes through in your creative expressions is a wonderful way to get to know yourself better, get to LOVE yourself better.
And if that happens for you, my work here is done.
I had a clarity call with a new client last week and I was describing the difference between coaching and therapy. Coaching is more intimate, I think. It's more of a relationship. I get to openly love my clients. The work we do together brings out the best in them which inevitable leads them to love themselves more. But it happens to me first, I fall in love with your wonderfulness and reflect it back you. Again, how fun is that?!?!? I'm a lucky girl.
That's all for now, M'dear. Have a wonderful week and let me know how this journal prompt goes for you.
Oh, and if you heard about that clarity call and it sparked a little curiosity or needled you a little, go ahead and schedule one for yourself, here's the link: clarity call
