I have a daily gratitude practice that I call Gratintention.
Now, when I say "daily", I don’t mean 365 days a year. There are periods (months at a time) when I don’t do this practice and that’s ok. It’s always there when I need it.
So how might you know when you need it?
Well, lately I had been feeling a little “off”. Maybe even a little depressed, I thought? It was like, I could see how great my life was but I didn’t feel great. And all I could seem to focus on was what I didn’t have and where it felt like not enough. Also, I couldn't seem to get clarity on what I really wanted.
The other day I decided to journal it out. I thought of gratitude but I resisted. It felt like too hokey of a solution, “ugh gratitude to fix everything and show you what you already have in your life” eye roll.
So I journaled about how I was feeling and what I wanted to have more of in my life.
It wasn’t quite landing. Finally, I said screw it, I’ll try the gratintention and see how it feels.
Yesterday was the first morning of bringing back the practice. It felt great. AND I had forgotten about the best part of the gratintention practice...
✨ It shows me magic! Not one hour after I had written my gratintention, I got a magical gift from the universe showing me a path that I had not thought of.
Today in my practice, I said thank you for that one and "more of that magic please" 🙏
I can’t wait to see what happens today.
Who knows how long I’ll stick with it this time around, but for now it feels really good.
It’s shifted my mood, it’s giving me a spring in my step that I had been missing. It’s giving me a fun reason to get out of bed, and I’m noticing that I’m smiling more throughout the day.
Have you tried this practice! Here’s a guide if you’re interested.
Let me know how it goes!
